                It is informed that,

1.             The  next batch  of Induction training for Postal Assistants ( LGOs) will be commencing from  09.04.2012  to  09.06.2012.  The training will be in double shift so as to cover more trainees in one program.   LGO candidates  may be deputed to report  Postal Training Centre on 08.04.2012

b)  It is requested that full utilization of seats may be ensured. Necessary instructions may kindlybe issued to Divisional Heads to send the candidates as per the eligibility criteria.

3.            Instructions for candidates/trainees

LGO candidates may also be directed to report at this centre one day prior to the commencement of training ie., on 09.04.02012.. Registration & admission to the training session  will be made   on the  forenoon  of  09.04.2012.
a.        The enclosed instructions for the trainees and general information about Postal Training Centre, Mysore may kindly be circulated to the trainees along with the order  & direct the trainees to report to the training centre in time.

b.       It may kindly be informed to the trainees that the stay at PTC, Mysore will be continuously from 08.04.12 without a break. No leave will be granted to the trainees during the training period except in emergency cases. The dress code and restrictions on use of mobile to be strictly followed.

c.        Lady trainees who are pregnant (five months or above) should not be deputed for Induction training.

d.       Lady trainees having dependent babies should not be deputed for Induction training.

e.        Trainees should not bring with them their family members/children, as family accommodation is not available in the centre.

f.         All the candidates of Induction( LGOs) training should pay mess fees,  accommodation charges as shown in the Instruction for Trainees at the time of admission

Instructions for Candidates/Trainees.
1. Please report to Postal Training Centre, Mysore by 08.04.2012 A/N.

2. The Induction training program for LGOs for Nine weeks. No leave will be granted to the trainees during the training period except in emergency cases.

3. The dress code during the program is Pant/ shirts for men & Choodidar /Sarees for women.  Other dresses like jeans etc are not allowed.

4. Mobile phones are not permitted in the academic block and during study hours in hostel.            

5. The candidates are required to bring the following:-

     1.        Three recent passport / stamp size photographs
     2.        Details of payment to be made by the trainees at the time of admission are furnished below:

6. Physical Training is a part of training .Uniforms for P.T and  on certain days in class room will be     as under:-

White Shirt or T shirt with ½ sleeves & Full Pants- 2 in numbers
White Salwar & Kameez/Choodidar - 2 in numbers
White Canvas Shoes with socks  - 1 pair
White Canvas Shoes with Socks - 1  pair

PT Uniform dresses with Departmental logo will be supplied by PTC, Mysore  on payment       of  Rs. 650/-  Trainees are requested to bring 1 pair of  black / brown shoes with tie. All  the regions/ Divisional heads may be informed  accordingly.

7. The pregnant Lady candidate (at advance stage) is not allowed in training course.
8. Drinking of alcohol, smoking and chewing tobacco/ Gutkha is strictly prohibited in the campus. Suitable action will be taken against those, who will not follow this instruction.            

9. General information about PTC, Mysore is enclosed, a copy of which may be circulated to all the trainees for their convenience.

General information about Postal Training Centre, Mysore

Welcome to PTC, Mysore
Location

Mysore is located at a distance of 137 kms from Bangalore, the capital city of the state of Karnataka. Mysore is connected to Bangalore by both rail and road. The drive from Bangalore takes about three hours.

Postal Training Centre at Mysore is housed in a palace, which formerly belonged to the royal family of Mysore. The campus is spread over an area of 31.5 acres with hostels, play grounds and other amenities for trainees.

How to reach

Postal Training Centre Mysore is situated in the Nazarbad Area diagonally opposite to Nazarbad Police Station. Mysore Railway station is about 5 kms. Mysore main bus stand is about 3 kms. KSRTC local buses ply from railway station/bus stand to a bus stop situated near the PTC Mysore main gate. Auto charges from railway station would be around Rs.35/- and from main bus stand, it would be around Rs.25/-.

Climate

Mysore enjoys a cool and pleasant climate round the year with temperature rarely going beyond 30o C.

Accommodation

Postal Training Centre has its hostel in the campus, where participants will be accommodated. There will be sharing of accommodation. Separate blocks are available for men and women trainees. Accommodation for the families of the participants is not available.

Mess facility
Good vegetarian mess facility is provided to all the trainees

Physical Training

Physical training activities are provided to the trainees through Physical Training Instructor. Facilities for playing outdoor and indoor games are available. A well-equipped gymnasium is also available. There will be yoga session every day for the interested trainees.


Library/Reading room

All important daily newspapers, weekly, fortnightly, monthly magazines of English, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada are made available to the trainees in the reading room. In Library, Southern regional languages books, books on management, computer, English fiction, nonfiction and etc, in English & Hindi

Dispensary

A dispensary is available for providing medical facility to the trainees.

Recreation

Each floor of the hostel block is provided with a TV. A proposal on grant TA and transit to officials who are transferred on completion of tenure to the place of their choice was under consideration in this Directorate for sometime past.      SR-114 governs TA on transfer distinguishes between transfer for public convenience and transfer on own request.  Although transfer on completion of tenure in one office has not been specifically referred to in this rule, yet the transfer on completion of tenure is a transfer for public convenience.  On completion of tenure, the official has to be transferred out for operational reasons.  Therefore, such a transfer is mandatory, while posting to a place of choice is secondary and subject to public convenience.  In view of this posting to a place of choice after completion of full tenure may not be normally termed as a "transfer on own request" under SR-114.      It
